One-On-One Vision Therapy

One-On-One Vision Therapy

All visual skills are learned, and delayed visual skills can be improved with vision therapy. It's important to understand, however, that vision therapy does not eliminate learning disabilities, but rather addresses the visual and perceptual skills that underlie learning, and that is essential for acquiring and retaining knowledge. Vision therapy develops conceptual understanding and the visual strategies that are most effective for learning.

Vision therapy is a team effort involving your optometrist, family, school, and student. Development is not a switch to turn on learning occurs step by step. Research indicates that best results are achieved with a combination of practice-based vision therapy with a trained vision therapist and at-home reinforcement therapy exercises.

One-on-one therapy is offered in 10-week blocks. Each block program is $590 and includes

- An individualised program tailored to your needs

- All materials

- A therapy session with a trained therapist each week (or twice as long each fortnight, if appropriate)

- A progress evaluation with your optometrist at 10 weeks

If you need more than 10-weeks to achieve your therapy goals, the vision therapist will signal this to you in advance and extend the program to 14 or 16 weeks on a pro rata basis.

Payment for programs are required at the time of purchase and is non-refundable. We are always under pressure to find appointment times during the most popular times of the day. Unless 24 hours notice is given, appointments made and not kept will be charged for.
