Kirsty Pienaar

Kirsty Pienaar, our Operations Manager at OCULA, brings over 20 years of comprehensive experience in optometry, having transitioned through various roles within the industry since 2005.

Kirsty obtained the Fellowship of British Dispensing Opticians (FBDO) from the Association of British Dispensing Opticians (ABDO) in the United Kingdom (UK) in 2019. She has also invested in her professional development by completing several marketing and management tertiary courses. She was appointed to the New Zealand Optometrist and Dispensing Opticians Board as a health practitioner (dispensing optician) in August 2023.

Kirsty's expertise extends to dispensing prescriptions from ophthalmologists and optometrists, showcasing her depth of knowledge in the field. She has actively contributed to the field by serving on various association Continuing Professional Development (CPD) committees and presenting at CPD events. Her commitment to safe holistic patient care is a driving force in her approach to eye care.

In 2020 Kirsty assumed the position of Practice Manager for OCULA Wanaka and since then she has sat in her current role as Operations Manager, Kirsty oversees the operations of OCULA's five practices situated across the South Island, ensuring seamless functioning and top-notch eye care services.

Originally from South Africa, Kirsty and her family relocated to New Zealand in 2019. Fueled by her calling and passion for the OCULA brand, Kirsty is currently based in Auckland, working closely with our stores daily. Her mission is to uphold and enhance the standard of customer service and client experience, ensuring excellence permeates every aspect of our operations on the shop floor.
