Why We're Different
At OCULA, we’re exceptional at what we do. Here, we’re all about eyes. But more to the point, we’re all about your eyes. Our care is comprehensive and cutting edge, and our clinic is world-class.
We don't do basic
From the moment you step inside, our team of specialists work together on an extensive, tailored treatment plan to ensure your vision and eye health is the best it can be.
We believe in prevention as a first line of defence
Not only do we continually invest in the latest technology, but our optometrists spend a portion of the year researching and learning the very newest techniques - keeping Ocula at the forefront of eye care in New Zealand.
Our eye assessments are second to none
Each is 45 minutes long and goes well beyond a simple screening. We’ll first conduct a detailed vision evaluation, followed by a thorough eye health examination in which we check for diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration and retinal detachment. Your eyes will then be tested to ensure they’re working cohesively as a team, before your visual processing is examined which - simply put - is understanding how your brain makes sense of what you see.Learn more about our eye assessments
We know great vision begins at day one
We’re so passionate about your child's eyes we implemented the InfantSEE programme, offering free eye checks from six months to two. We continue care through your child's schooling years, and also offer screening for learning impairments such as Irlens and dyslexia.
We specialise in behavioural optometry.
A niche branch of eye care, behavioural optometry is recommended for children having difficulty reading or learning in a classroom environment. It involves a more holistic approach - meaning the physical, neurological and developmental aspects of vision are assessed. Basically, our behavioural optometrist is looking at how the brain process what the eyes see. You can read more about it here.Book an appointment
