Danielle Winstone (née Ross)
Danielle is an optometrist with a comprehensive skill-set and a strong background in paediatric eye care. With extensive experience in the medical management of myopia, infantile aphakia, orthokeratology and contact lenses - Danielle’s passion lies within a niche speciality known as Behavioural Optometry, which enables the treatment of developmental delays and learning difficulties by looking at how the brain processes what eyes can see. Danielle is one of the few Behavioural Optometrists in the Queenstown Lakes Districts, and is also a binocular vision specialist.
A driven entrepreneur, Danielle is the owner and managing director of OCULA and is committed to providing the highest level of care. In 2016, OCULA won the Chamber of Commerce’s Outstanding in Professional Services award, and was a finalist for the same again in 2017 and 2018. Danielle spends a significant amount of time researching and up-skilling to stay ahead of the latest techniques, as well as ensuring only the most advanced technology is being used within her practices.
Danielle continues to compete on a global level, and both her clinics offer a world-class optical experience in the heart of the Queenstown Lakes District. Her professionalism, experience and genuine love of optometry mean that when you see Danielle, you know you’re getting the best.
From September 25th 2020, Danielle will begin maternity leave, returning to the Wanaka clinic after 6 months on March 29th 2021. Due to longer travelling distances, Danielle will be returning to the Queenstown clinic in October 2021.
